Sunshine Coast Airport backs 18 local community groups through 2025 Community Support Fund.

By Sunshine Coast Airport

Sunshine Coast Airport (SCA) has announced 18 successful recipients of its 2025 Community Support Fund, each receiving up to $1,000 to support local initiatives across the region.

Now in its second year, the fund received a diverse range of applications from organisations committed to making a meaningful difference, including youth sports, environmental initiatives, wellness programs, and community events.

SCA CEO Chris Mills said the airport team were inspired once again by the calibre of submissions and the passion shown by community groups.

“We are incredibly proud to support another round of local organisations through our Community Support Fund, it’s clear our community is rich with dedicated individuals creating positive change.” Mr Mills said.

The Community Support Fund aims to provide a boost to initiatives that align with one or more of SCA’s Community Support Pillars:

  • Environment and Sustainability
  • Health and Wellbeing
  • Sport and Legacy
  • Connections
  • Opportunity and Growth
  • Pride of Place & Amazing Experiences

“This Fund is just one of the ways Sunshine Coast Airport gives back to the community, and it has been rewarding to connect with so many new organisations again this year,” Mr Mills said.

“We look forward to seeing how this funding helps bring their initiatives to life.”

Jake Harris, Coolum Beach Surf Life Saving Club President, said the funding would make a real difference to their club.

“We had budgeted to purchase a new rescue board this year, which is essential equipment for our Nippers program,” Mr Harris said.

“Thanks to the Community Support Fund, we’ve been able to cover that cost with the grant, meaning the money we had put aside can now be redirected to other important areas, like improved training programs to give our kids a better experience.

“This support goes a long way in helping us keep our beaches safe and our volunteers well-equipped.”
